“We are a team under construction that is finding and perfecting the right balance, that will bring results very soon,” he said on Rai programme ‘Che tempo che fa’.
“I don’t know if we will bring ourselves back to win in Italy, but we will certainly be protagonists again.
“The record of minutes played? They’re a lot and I'm happy about it, but I think I still have something to give.
“An objective and a dream is to keep playing until 2018, although after the age of 32 or 33 the years count as seven times more, like with dogs!
“Since I was a child the thing that has moved me is an uncontrollable passion for football.
“Growing up, you realise that what excites you the most is the challenge.
“I still enjoy playing in matches. I still haven’t thought about what I'll do after, I’ve had no brainwaves."
