Gianluigi Buffon will make a decision next week and Parma are reportedly leading the chase for the veteran goalkeeper.

The former Italy captain leaves Juventus this summer, after two years as back-up behind Wojciech Szczesny, but the 43-year-old has still not decided if he will continue playing.

Calciomercato.com reports Buffon could announce his choice as early as next week, and has let Barcelona know that he will not move to Spain.

Buffon wants to end his career as a starter, as long as his body allows him, and both Genoa and Besiktas have tried to secure his services in recent weeks.

The report claims the two mentioned clubs have put some interesting offers on the table, but that Buffon would be more open for a return to Parma.

It would be a romantic ending for the World Cup winner and a great possibility to help Parma bounce back after the relegation to Serie B in 2020-21.

The veteran is thinking about his next move and will soon clarify, edging closer and closer to the Crociati.

Buffon started his career at Parma and moved to Juventus in July 2001. He returned to the Old Lady after one season with Paris Saint-Germain in 2018-19, but could now decide to move back where it all started.
