Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli claims Gianluigi Buffon’s Italy critics “make me laugh” and are “mad”.

Buffon came under fire for not saving at least one of Isco’s two strikes in Italy’s 3-0 defeat to Spain on Saturday, but Barzagli rubbished the idea that his Juventus teammate needed to prove himself again.

“Losing 3-0 isn’t good for Italy, but I think it can make us grow, the youngsters too,” he told Rai Sport ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Israel.
