Juventus pair Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini have been voted in to UEFA’s team of the year by fans.

European football’s governing body ran a poll on its website to find the best XI of 2017, and the results have been announced today.

Both Buffon and Chiellini have been included, as has former Bianconeri full-back Dani Alves, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Buffon received 333,604 votes, which accounted for 41.8 per cent in the goalkeeper category.

Chiellini was selected in 37.1 per cent of fans’ teams, acquiring a total of 295,842 votes.

Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos was the most popular player in the poll, having been selected in 73.7 per cent of teams with a total 588,315 votes.
