“He’s always been the best with his hands. People always say [Lev] Yashin, [Ricardo] Zamora, [Dino] Zoff, [Sepp] Maier and [Gordon] Banks.

“If I had to select those of my era, I’d say Schmeichel, [Walter] Zenga, [Gianluca] Pagliuca, [Andoni] Zubizzareta.

“In the last decade, Cech and Casillas have been the best, while in the last three I’d say [Manuel] Neuer, he’s fantastic in the air. The Czech though [Cech] is the most complete overall.”

The most-capped Italian international of all-time was also asked about the best Spanish strikers he’s faced.

“The best was definitely Raul, with [Fernando] Torres a close second. Even [Ismael] Urzaiz was very strong for a time.”

Finally, the legendary shot-stopper explained what makes him most angry in football.

“When I make a good save and the striker taps in the rebound unmarked I go into a rage!”
