Gigi Buffon has three main options for his future, claim reports, namely Barcelona, Atletico Madrid or a return to where it started at Parma.

The shot-stopper turned 43 in January, but has not yet decided whether to hang up his gloves or carry on elsewhere after leaving Juventus.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, there are now three candidates for his future, or he could opt to simply retire this summer.

They include the opportunity to be second choice at Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, which is a new experience for him in La Liga, but also likely very little playing time.

The other would be a return to where his career began at Parma, who were just relegated into Serie B.

Buffon was given a surprise Serie A debut in Parma’s 0-0 draw with Milan in November 1995, aged 17 years, nine months and 22 days.

This wouldn’t be his first Serie B experience, as he dropped down with Juventus following Calciopoli in 2006.
