According to multiple reports in Italy, Marcelo Brozovic has agreed to sign a contract extension with Inter until 2026, snubbing a higher offer from Newcastle.

The Croat sees his current deal expire at the end of the season, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, he will commit his future to the Nerazzurri signing a new deal until June 2026.

Brozovic has reportedly agreed to put pen to paper on a new €6m-a-year deal plus add-ons.

Inter President Steven Zhang arrived in Milan last week and gave the green light to the operation that will see the Croat become one of Inter’s highest earners.

Only Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal have a higher salary, while Lautaro Martinez also gets €6m per season.

The Argentinean striker extended with the Nerazzurri at the end of October.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Brozovic snubbed an €8m-a-year offer from Newcastle as he ‘wants to play at a high level.’

Inter will meet Brozovic and his entourage after tomorrow’s Supercup Final against Juventus and an announcement is expected in the coming days.

4 thought on “Brozovic to extend with Inter: announcement imminent”
  1. Epic Brozo, the best deal Inter‘s going to close this year, regardless of what players come in later.
Together with a more vocal Barella the real (vice-)captain for next season.

  2. The best news… as we cannot afford a player of theame caliber, I consider Brozo as the star signing … come July… more, we Interisti are grateful for his decision look what happened to Milan they lost Dollarumma, Calha (thanks by the way) and now Kessie is going the same route … losing a quality player hurts in two ways; both technically and financially …

  3. The next time someone wants to discuss how Inter are in a dire financial state (which almost club is due to the pandemic but it seems that it is only Inter that is ever mentioned) remember that they have managed to reach agreement with Brozo, while Milan are having to let decent players leave for free and Juve are having to change their offer for dybala to extend. Just saying a bit of balance would be nice.
