Inter are hopeful that Marcelo Brozovic will be able to start Saturday’s Serie A opening fixture against Lecce, as he resumed training today.

There were strong concerns the midfielder would be forced to sit out the match at the Stadio Via del Mare on Saturday evening.

He had been struggling with a muscular problem that ruled him out of recent friendly tests, but the Croatia international was spotted taking part in full training with the rest of the team today.

Brozovic only skipped the game between ranks, largely as a precaution.

Should he not be risked, then new signing Kristjan Asllani is first choice to step in after the move from Empoli.

Inter (probable): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez

  1. Gosens has been abysmal so far at Inter with all the physical problems and Di Marco has an educated left foot, he is one of the few who can put a decent cross in the box. And it is a game against Lecce, I would not risk Brozovic tbh. He has no replacement
