La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Ligue 1 side Brest have agreed to sell Lilian Brassier, a transfer target for Milan and Bologna.

Milan are looking for defensive reinforcement in the summer transfer window and Brassier is a long-time target of the Serie A giants.

Milan had already been linked with the 24-year-old centre-back in the January transfer window when the return of Matteo Gabbia from a loan spell at Villarreal was the only reinforcement for Stefano Pioli.

Brest agree to sell Milan and Bologna target Brassier – report

According to Gazzetta, Brest have decided to sell the French defender who is appreciated by the soon-to-be Milan coach Paulo Fonseca.

The pink paper claims that the asking price for Brassier is not higher than €12m, but Bologna and Wolfsburg have already made their moves and the Bundesliga side are now leading the race.

However, Wolfsburg won’t play in the Champions League next season so Milan still have a chance to sign the central defender although the Rossoneri’s priority will be to sign a new centre-forward to replace Olivier Giroud.
