Torino star Gleison Bremer continues to impress and was the best player on the pitch against Milan last night.

The Brazil international has been linked with many top clubs and his performances this season justify the interest from top Italian and European clubs.

The 25-year-old was named MVP by Italian sports papers after last night’s 0-0 draw against Milan at the Stadio Grande Torino. ‘He is ready for a big club,’ wrote Il Corriere dello Sport, that rated the defender 7.5/10. He got the same grande on La Gazzetta dello Sport, while Tuttosport rated the solid centre-back 8/10.

Bremer has recently extended his contract with Torino, but he is expected to leave in the summer for an offer in the region of €25-30m. Inter met his agents during the international break and have made him their priority target in the summer to replace Stefan de Vrij, who is expected to leave.

On the other hand, Milan are close to securing the services of Sven Botman, so they won’t go for the Brazilian star who has suitors also in the Premier League, especially Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

  1. Is it much easier performing well as a centre back in teams who stay back or play with 5 defensively, than then performing in a team where the emphasise is on pushing up and attacking in the first instance. Theate was also brilliant vs Milan, and definitely more of a modern defender who is good with his feet, pacey and technically gifted. I do know though that once the media decide to get behind someone, their one dimensional nature or potential deficiencies are ignored.

Milan played to bremer’s strengths yesterday by constantly playing hoof balls. all he had to do was jump for balls with giroud and get in 1-2 last ditch blocks.
