Despite struggling to ‘find the words in such a difficult moment’ Juventus defender Bremer said he hopes to be back ‘stronger than before’ after medical tests on Thursday confirmed an ACL injury that will keep him out of action for several months.

The Brazilian centre-back limped off during his side’s 3-2 win at Leipzig in the Champions League and the outcome of exams was ‘the worst’, as he commented on his Instagram profile.

Bremer comments on his ACL rupture: ‘A chance to grow up’

“It’s hard to find the words in such a difficult moment, unluckily the outcome of the medical tests was the worst,” Bremer wrote in his post.

“It’s a challenge I want to face with the same motivation of always, it’ll be a chance to grow up, improve and be back stronger than before.

“Now a long recovery awaits me, but my support for my team and teammates will be there. Thanks everyone for their support, Forza Juventus. Always with you.”

Juventus also published an Instagram post supporting Bremer, with a caption reading: “Get well soon, Gleison. Come on, warrior!”

  1. Sad to see as he is an absolute rock in defence, and currently one of the best 3 defenders in Europe.
