Inter legend Andreas Brehme cheered on the Nerazzurri ahead of tonight’s Champions League game against Atletico Madrid in his last Instagram story, hours before his sudden death.
The former Inter and Germany defender died at 63 on Tuesday morning of sudden cardiac arrest.
He wasn’t only one of the greatest players in Inter’s history but remained a Nerazzurri fan after the end of his playing career.
Just hours before his tragic death, Brehme had shared an Instagram story to support his former club ahead of tonight’s Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.
Beppe Bergomi, one of his closest friends and ex-Inter teammates, struggled to fight back the tears during an interview with Sky Sport Italia on Tuesday morning and said Brehmer had planned to come to Italy to watch Inter games against Salernitana and Atletico Madrid but eventually remained in Germany.
Brehme joined Inter in 1988 and played 155 games with the Serie A giants, winning a Serie A title, one UEFA Cup and a Supercoppa Italiana.
