Brazil set to announce Ancelotti arrival soon – report

Brazilian outlet Globo is confident that the Brazillian football federation will soon announce the arrival of head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is still contracted to Real Madrid.

The Selecao have been looking for a new head coach following Tite’s departure at the end of the 2022 World Cup, keen to bring trophies back to the national team once again after a difficult spell. The five-time world champions have not won the World Cup in over two decades.

Ancelotti has been heavily linked with the Brazil job, being one of the favourites of the federation. Despite this, he’s remained at Real Madrid and is expected to coach the team for the coming 2023-24 season.

Globo details how the arrival of Ancelotti is being taken for granted amongst those in the Brazilian football federation, and president Ednaldo Rodrigues is set to announce the Italian coach’s arrival to the media by the end of this month.

Rodrigues will clarify the arrival date of Ancelotti, who is still contracted to Real Madrid until June 2024. He could be officially appointed next summer or earlier in January.
