Serie C side Vicenza announced their Under-17 player Edoardo Bolzon is fighting for his life in hospital after surgery for a brain haemorrhage.
The defender was suddenly taken ill last night, rushed to the Treviso Hospital and had surgery, but remains in critical condition.
“Edoardo, you always proved yourself a warrior on the pitch, fighting for every ball more than anyone else, as your battling spirit showed through,” read the Vicenza Twitter statement.
