The presence of lawyer Juan de Dios Crespo at Barca’s offices on Monday fuelled speculation that he was negotiating Neymar’s return.

However, he is also Braida’s legal representative and RAC1 claims he was there to work on a termination of the 73-year-old’s contract.

He joined the Blaugrana towards the end of the 2014-15 campaign, taking on the role of international football advisor, and helped steady the ship as they won a treble in his first season.

The stalwart signed a five-year contract in 2016, and Mundo Deportivo writes his experience, knowledge and contacts have proved extremely helpful.

Prior to his tenure at Camp Nou, Braida spent 27 years as Milan’s general manager between 1986 and 2013.
