Barcelona’s international sporting director Ariedo Braida speaks about Inter’s Mateo Kovacic – ‘there’s no denying he’s a player we like’.
The Catalan club have a transfer ban until January, and cannot sign anyone this summer, but Braida hints agreements could still be made.
“The rules are very clear,” the director explained, speaking to FCInterNews.
“Barcelona cannot make moves or hold official talks during the summer, but it absolutely does not forbid us from making verbal agreements for January. That is, of course, allowed.
“Kovacic? For the moment I can’t speak about him, so far there’s nothing concrete. Of course, there’s no denying he’s a player we like, and he has quality.”
It has been suggested that winger Pedro could move to Inter this summer, after losing his place in the side to Luis Suarez, but Braida insists that will not happen.
“Pedro is, and will remain, a Barcelona player.
“He’s a very important player for us, and will not leave in the summer. He has a contract, and will remain at Camp Nou, even more so since we have a transfer ban.
“Could he leave in January? I don’t think so. He’ll definitely stay until January. I repeat: he’s an important player, and will stay at Barcelona.”
