After days of speculation about his potential return to Real Madrid, Brahim Diaz sent a clear message by kissing the Milan badge when scoring against Sampdoria. ‘I am very happy here, I don’t know what to say about the future.’

The trequartista is in the third year of his loan deal and his future will be decided at the end of the season.

While the Rossoneri have an option to buy in July for €22m, Real Madrid also have a counter-option to bring him back to base for €27m.

It was reported over the last few days that he would not remain at the Bernabeu anyway, as he’d be sold off to Borussia Dortmund as part of an exchange for Jude Bellingham.

When speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the 5-1 win over Sampdoria, Brahim Diaz made it clear he would not answer any questions on his future.

However, he seemed to give the response on the field already, looking to the crowd and kissing the badge on his shirt after scoring a well-worked team goal, and was coaxed into discussing it.

“It was to thank all the fans for what they did for us this week. I felt that with my heart, I kissed it with heart. I don’t know what to say about the future, I am very happy here, there are two games left this season and I want to give my all for this team.”

The Spaniard also provided two assists this evening.

“I am young, I still need to mature and I thank the coach for doing such great work with me and the others to help us grow. We are always united, in good moments and bad,” said Brahim Diaz.

“I know my quality, I always give everything, I work in training on what I need to improve.”

The Champions League defeat to Inter could’ve gone differently, as Brahim Diaz wasted a great scoring opportunity in that semi-final.

“I wanted to score, of course I have regrets over that chance that I got wrong, but football always gives you another opportunity and today was another game.”
