Spanish attacker Brahim Diaz admitted Milan ‘must improve’, but stressed the Rossoneri delivered a ‘good performance’ when he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Sampdoria.

Milan started with a trip to Liguria and held onto the early lead secured through Brahim Diaz loose finish in the first half.

Sampdoria 0-1 Milan: Brahim Diaz grabs the winner

“It was a good performance,” Brahim told DAZN after the win. “We must improve but we are at the beginning of the championship.

“The important thing was to win and the three points have arrived.”

Brahim Diaz played in an attacking trident behind Olivier Giroud on Monday, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still out injured.

“I feel good with everyone,” he continued. “We always miss Ibra, but I got along well with Giroud too.

“We fight and win together, the team always runs a bit more, that’s the right spirit.”

Brahim Diaz has been given the No. 10 jersey at Milan ahead of the new campaign.

“This is Milan and it’s an important number, but I don’t have any fear,” the youngster added. “I’m very happy to be here.”

But he doesn’t want to talk about the Scudetto battle already: “Let’s take one game at a time, we are Milan, let’s see.”
