Liam Brady still thinks Juventus will ultimately take the Serie A title from Lazio, but ‘it’d be good for Italian football if someone else won.’
The Bianconeri have won the last eight editions of the Scudetto and when the lockdown occurred were one point clear of Lazio at the top of the table.
“Lazio came out of nowhere, I don’t think anybody believed they could genuinely challenge for the title,” Brady told Rai Radio Uno.

“Lazio came out of nowhere, I don’t think anybody believed they could genuinely challenge for the title,” Brady told Rai Radio Uno.
“It’d be good for Italian football if someone else won, and it’s positive to see a team that can really fight Juve for the trophy, even if I think that with the champions at their disposal, Juve will ultimately win again.
“It’s in a way disappointing to say it, but I do think it would be good for Italian football if a side other than Juve were to win the Scudetto.”
Brady spent much of his career in Italy, at Juventus from 1980-82, then Sampdoria, on to Inter in 1984 and Ascoli from 1986-87.
“I played very well for Sampdoria and at the time I was wanted by three or four European clubs. I chose Inter because they were a great team, had just signed Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, there was Alessandro Altobelli along with talented young players like Beppe Bergomi, Walter Zenga and Giuseppe Baresi.
“We were very strong, but threw away the chance to win the Scudetto in 1984-85, when Verona took it. I will always remember my years in Italy with great fondness, though.”
