Roma midfielder Michael Bradley has spoken of his admiration for ‘legend’ Francesco Totti.

The veteran has impressed at the start of the campaign with a number of fantastic performances, and the American has claimed that the 37-year-old is an example to follow, whilst also commenting on the derby with Lazio and the Coppa Italia final defeat last term.

“Totti is the symbol of Roma,” he told the BBC. “He is the person to whom the fans have more respect and loyalty than anyone else.

“He had the chance to join Real Madrid, but remained true to this team. And from that point of view he is a legend.

“The final defeat was a huge disappointment to us all. It was one of the darkest days in our history, but from that sorrow we have been left with a greater determination.

“The club has done well in the transfer market, has chosen the right Coach and is giving him the opportunity to work with the players he wanted.”
