Michael Bradley admits Roma “are in the running for the Scudetto” as they can become the first side in Serie A history to win the first 10 games.
The Giallorossi have already matched the record of a perfect record after Week 9, set by Fabio Capello’s Juventus in 2005-06, and a victory over Chievo on Thursday would topple it. Click here for a match preview.
“Last season didn’t go the way we wanted it to, but I believe in this team and this club. I want to be a part of this project,” the American told Sky Sport Italia.
Chievo are bottom of the table, but Bradley warns this is the kind of trap Roma used to fall into.
“The next game is always the most difficult. Chievo are always tough to face and I know the mentality they will have at the Olimpico, seeing as I played for them two years ago.
“Who are the favourites for the Scudetto? Looking at the results I’d say Juventus and Napoli. There are also Inter and Fiorentina, while let’s not forget Milan. After nine rounds it’s all open, so let’s just wait before giving a favourite.
“Roma? After this streak of results we are in the running for the Scudetto, but we’ll have to see where we are at the end of the season.”
Coach Rudi Garcia has made a stunning impact in his debut Serie A campaign.
“He pays attention to every little detail, that is what has really impressed me,” continued Bradley.
“When you have a Coach like this, it is always positive.”
