Brescia talent Sandro Tonali and Fiorentina duo Federico Chiesa and Gaetano Castrovilli are among the upcoming stars linked with clubs like Juventus, Inter, Napoli and Milan of late, but rumours about competition from European top clubs has emerged in Italy.
Bozzo, Tonali's agent, doesn’t fear that the ongoing pandemic will affect the possibilities to remain in Italy for the talents and rather feels the competition with the Serie A giants will be ‘difficult to beat’.
“Tonali is very good, let’s let him speak on the pitch,” Bozzo told Tuttosport. “The process on Italianisation of the squad started some time ago.
“It’s reflected in the national team that [CT Roberto] Mancini is cleverly putting together with some interesting young players.
“Juventus have always been very attentive and oriented towards the construction and maintenance of an Italian core.
“Recently, Inter have also been trying such an approach. They have been for some years now and even more since [CEO Beppe] Moratta’s arrival.
“I believe that the coronavirus emergency and the creative market that will follow doesn’t necessarily have to be an obstacle for our talents to stay in Italy.
“Compared to, for example, in 2012, when [Marco] Verratti was picked up by PSG. I think it has changed a lot, just by virtue of the trend I was talking about before, and it will be difficult for a foreign club to beat the competition.”
