Genoa rejected a €15.5m bid for Diego Perotti from Bournemouth, according to Rossoblu President Enrico Preziosi.

The Grifone chief discussed his club’s summer transfer activity, and expects FIFA’s permission to complete the signing of Bruno Gomes from CD Nacional.

“Our assets of €20m from the last transfer window were imposed by ourselves, it’s so much money that it allowed us to keep Perotti,” Preziosi said to Tele Nord.

“We received an offer of €15.5m from Bournemouth for him, I had to tell the player and I did but I didn’t accept it. He will stay for at least one more year to push us even higher.

“Ntcham? In twenty-six years in football I’ve never someone with such a strong personality for a 19-year old. We won’t give him too much responsibility but he has limitless potential.

“Bruno Gomes? We’re waiting for the OK from FIFA. I know him very well and I like him a lot – scoring goals is his profession and the permission won’t be a problem, just like with Pavoletti.

“I like the group of this Genoa team and their desire to be together.

“I believe that their value will show little by little, I am confident that we will maintain our position and there will be something more as well.

“We need to focus on the Coppa Italia because I would like to be remembered as a cup-winning President and not only for youth trophies.”
