Sven Botman’s agent Nikkie Bruinenberg has confirmed Milan’s interest and hinted at a summer move.
The Rossoneri tried hard to sign the 22-year-old Dutch centre back in this month’s transfer window but Lille refused to sell half-way through the season. The Rossoneri are keeping the track alive ahead of the summer transfer window, and the player’s agent has now further provided a clue about the player’s future.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Botman’s agent Bruinenberg first confirmed that Botman will not be leaving Lille this month.
“Yes, Botman will stay in France. He will not leave Lille this winter. There was also a lot of interest, offers were made by several clubs. But they were not able to meet the asking price. Lille simply don’t want to sell him.”
He suggested that the Dutch defender was not disappointed that his move away from Lille failed to come off.
“No, Sven became a champion there and plays in the Champions League. It’s only his second season at a beautiful club.”
Finally, Bruinenberg discussed Milan’s interest and spoke about the upcoming summer transfer window.
“I can tell you that they are one of the clubs interested. We’ll have to wait and see where he plays football next summer.”
The 22-year-old Botman, who is contracted to Lille until 2025, has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1800 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided one assist.
