Botman ‘desperately wants’ Newcastle move, but agreed Milan terms

Newcastle United director Amanda Staveley insists Sven Botman ‘desperately wants’ to join the Magpies, but the Dutch defender has agreed personal terms with Milan.

Botman was Newcastle and Milan’s main target during the January transfer window, but Lille refused to sell their star defender in the middle of the campaign. The Rossoneri may see Alessio Romagnoli leave at the end of his contract in June and Botman remains a target for 2022-23.

Milan agree Botman personal terms, but Newcastle and Tottenham still in race

His agents met Milan directors in February, reaching an agreement over a €2.5m-a-year deal. However, the Rossoneri have not yet shaken hands with Lille, who will be looking for a sale in the region of €30-35m. Botman is not the only Lille player being monitored by Milan as Renato Sanches and Jonathan David are also on the Diavoli’s radars.

Newcastle United remain in the race for Botman, as confirmed by Amanda Staveley in an interview with The Athletic. “Some desperately wanted to come to us, like Sven [Botman], who still does very much and has talked very openly about that,” she said.

At the end of the January transfer window, Botman confirmed the interest from Milan and Newcastle, suggesting that he could be on his way out of France at the end of the season.

Newcastle will outbid milan – Newcastle had a bid of 45 million euro turned down by Lille in January so why anyone thinks they would sell for 30-35 million in the summer is quite amusing

What you guy’s are forgetting about is the player’s wishes + agents’ influence.
I’d rather ’em get Sanchez, although Tonali is becoming more of a physical presence it has to be said. But would Botman want A UCL competing club like Milan or a 1st Div one like Newcastle?
I don’t think she can afford crack. It look’s like all her dough is been spent on face lifts? She probably has to make do with Newcastle Brown Ale?!

Something is amiss here. He has agreed personal terms with Milan yet Newcastle is stating he wants to go there? Newcastle is just stirring the pot…

He’s going to Newcastle, I’d bet my house on it. Hopefully we can get Sanches from Lille at least.
