Milan have an extra reason to impress in tonight’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio, as Lille defender Sven Botman’s agent is in the stands, a sign they have the advantage over Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to multiple reports including Radio Rossonera and Sportitalia, agent Nikkie Bruinenberg is present at San Siro this evening to watch the game.

This will naturally also be an opportunity to talk with the Milan directors, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who are also in attendance.

Milan have never disguised their desire to sign Botman, but Lille refused to allow a January transfer for one of their top players.

Newcastle United had also been in the bidding war for the €30m-rated defender, while Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are now joining the fray.

However, the Rossoneri remain the absolute favourites for Botman and see him as an ideal heir for Simon Kjaer, who is out for the rest of the season following knee surgery.

Alessio Romagnoli is also expected to leave as a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.
