Bosnia national team has confirmed Edin Dzeko suffered a muscle injury during the Milan derby. Therefore he underwent treatment today.
Dzeko was replaced in the second half of the Milan derby last night with a suspected muscle injury.
He had been included in the Bosnia and Herzegovina squad list for the upcoming matches against Finland, Ukraine and the USA, but he could not train with his compatriots today.
“The MRI confirmed a certain degree of damage to the muscles of the back of the thigh, and therefore Dzeko underwent a physical therapy program,” an official statement read.
Dzeko has played a key role at Inter this season, having scored eight goals in 16 appearances across all competitions.
He has scored seven goals in Serie A, the same as the entire last season at Roma.
Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni sustained muscle problems during the derby della Madonnina and both players didn’t train with Italy today.
Bastoni should be fit to face Switzerland on Friday, while Barella’s conditions will be assessed in the coming days, said Italy coach Roberto Mancini.
