Virtus Entella Coach Roberto Boscaglia assures they “want to enjoy the moment, but not just have a celebratory day out” against Roma in the Coppa Italia.

It kicks off on Monday at 20.00 GMT, with the winners going on to face Fiorentina or Torino in the quarter-final.

“This is the kind of game that prepares itself. A Coach has no need to motivate his players in this situation,” said Boscaglia in his Press conference.

“In tactical terms, that is more difficult, as we are up against a side that a few months ago was challenging for a place in the Champions League Final. Although Roma have changed a great deal, they still have an excellent Coach and play in a fantastic stadium.

“Eusebio Di Francesco is a Coach who has done well with small, medium and now big clubs, able to adapt to every situation.

“I like the way Roma play. They’ve had some ups and downs this season, but also had to deal with a lot of injuries. We’ve got to keep an eye out for counter-attacks, as they can be devastating.

“We want to enjoy the moment, but don’t want it to just be a celebratory day out. We want to cause Roma real problems. We’ll probably end up being under pressure for long periods, but we want to do our best to make life tough for them.

“It is certainly a reward for all the lads have done to get here. Since the start of the season we have worked with dignity, pride and a spirit of sacrifice. We knocked out teams like Siena, Salernitana and Genoa, so we earned this opportunity and don’t want to waste it.”

As Entella are in Serie C, this will be their first match involving VAR technology, but Boscaglia is not concerned.

“We watch Serie A games on television, so are accustomed to the timing of it now. I am in favour of VAR, but the problem is that it’s currently only available in Serie A. It’s easier to referee when you know that if there’s a massive mistake, it can be corrected.”
