Borriello linked to Premier League

Marco Borriello is again being linked with a move, this time to the Premier League, as his wages demands prove too high.

Sportmediaset report that the Roma striker, who is not in new Coach Zdenek Zeman’s plans for next season, is being tracked by Tottenham Hotspur.

This is said to be a link the result of the player’s wage demands. Whilst Spurs are unlikely to match the €5.4m-a-season deal that he collects in Rome, they are understood to be prepared to offer more than other interested parties Milan and Genoa can.

The player himself has most recently suggested that he is still in the dark as to where he will be playing for 2012-13.

“I do not know where I’ll be playing next year,” he posted on Twitter this week. “But we will know soon. For now, I’m happy at Roma.”
