The Grifone have been paired with Juventus” data-scaytid=”3″>Juventus striker Amauri, Diego Milito of Inter and Fiorentina‘s” data-scaytid=”6″>Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino already this summer.

However, it is now being claimed that they are pondering a swoop for a striker who already scored 19 goals in 35 Serie A games for Genoa in 2007-08.

Borriello's future in Rome is far from certain given that he doesn't seem to fit in with the tactical plans of boss Luis Enrique.

Paris SG have been associated with his services, but Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi seems determined to bring in a star attacker.

Roma would want at least €10m for the Italian international, the fee they had to pay Milan for him this summer after last term's loan, with the forced option to buy, deal.

Genoa though could try to tempt the Giallorossi into a player plus cash deal by offering Rodrigo Palacio as part of the proposed transfer.
