“I want to make it clear that there wasn’t a refusal,” representative Tiberio Cavalleri noted. “Milan wanted an almost definitive sale and that’s what led to the Roma transfer.”
The Stadio Olimpico outfit netted him on loan with the enforced option to sign him outright in 2011 for €10m.
Roma did that before this term began, but he’s struggled to get a game under new boss Luis Enrique. He’s now expected to join Juventus for the rest of the season.
“The deal to take Borriello to Juve was born 15 days ago,” the agent continued. “It will allow him to find room in a side of prestige.
“Luis Enrique’s tactics and ideas saw him placed to one side a little in Rome.
“At Juventus he will have a great opportunity and he’ll have to fight hard to demonstrate what he can do for a high-level team.”
Juventus are currently training in Dubai, but Borriello – who is having his medical today – opted against joining them on their winter break in order to recover from a small muscle injury.
