Former Fiorentina and Inter star Borja Valero said the Nerazzurri are still ‘the team to beat’ in Serie A 2021-22.

The 36-year-old midfielder moved from the Viola to CS Lebowski on a free transfer in August, having returned to Florence after three seasons with Inter.

Borja Valero arrived in Italy from Villarreal in August 2012, having previously spent time at RCD Mallorca and Wet Bromwich.

The veteran, who started in the Real Madrid academy, spoke about the big game between the Viola and the Beneamata tonight.

The former Spain international said he enjoys watching Simone Inzaghi’s Inter and believes the Nerazzurri are still the ‘team to beat’ in the top flight.

“They are the team that I like the most,” Borja Valero told La Repubblica. “They have the most complete squad.

“If they manage to manage all the three competitions well, they are still the team to beat.”

Inter have started the new campaign unbeaten in Serie A, but lost their first match in the Champions League against Real Madrid.

Fiorentina arrive after three consecutive 2-1 wins, after losing the first league match against Roma.
