Borja Mayoral is ’98 per cent’ sure of moving from Roma to Fiorentina in January, on loan from Real Madrid, claims a transfer intermediary.

The 24-year-old Spanish striker is in the middle of a two-season loan deal with option to buy for €20m.

However, the Giallorossi are not only now evidently not going to activate that purchase option, they don’t even want him to see out the rest of the loan.

Jose Mourinho has pushed Mayoral out of the squad, repeatedly dropping him to the stands after the 6-1 Europa Conference League defeat to Bodo/Glimt.

Fiorentina have shown an interest in taking on the loan and transfer intermediary Stefano Antonelli has few doubts.

“It is 98 per cent certain,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “Roma will do something on the right flank and bring in a new forward once Borja Mayoral leaves.”

The striker’s arrival at the Stadio Artemio Franchi could make it more likely that Fiorentina will allow Dusan Vlahovic to leave in the January transfer market.

  1. He had an excellent goals/minute ratio for Roma last season in the league and Europe – a goal every 76min or so.

But as always happens with Mourinho, he seems to fall out with many players time and again.

Mayoral might do well at Fiorentina or elsewhere.

  2. Thats actually looks like a good buy, he played really well last season, not sure why Mourinho doesnt like him.
Now we need to buy Berardi and Julian Alvarez and Vlahovic will be able to enjoy beautiful Viola calcio from the stands together with his agent.
