“During the summer I read about the interest of Milan and also of Roma,” Valero said to Gianlucadimarzio.com. “They are rumours that are flattering, it shows I have done something good.
“But I told my agent that my first thought was to stay in Florence. That was my wish and that is what has happened.
“I want to finish my career with the Viola shirt. There will be time to talk about it [the renewal].”
The midfielder then discussed Milan Coach Vincenzo Montella, who he worked with for three years in Florence.
“Vincenzo loves a style of football made up of quality and the desire to attack. They are ideas that win you over.”
Finally, Valero claimed it will be difficult for anyone to stop Juventus from winning yet another Scudetto and revealed his side’s dream is to win silverware.
“Juventus, who were already very strong, bought Napoli’s and Roma’s best players, the two other best teams in the League.
“So, on paper, it seems a given what will happen. But football is not about maths.
“I don’t like making predictions. I want to see the Fiorentina from the first five months of last season back on the pitch.
“No one gave us a chance and we got into the Champions League places. Then, we collapsed in a strange way.
“The dream is to stay in Europe and win a cup.”
