Fabio Borini’s agent says that his client is pushing his way through at Liverpool and won’t think about leaving Anfield to join Inter for now.

Last night Nerazzurro technical director Piero Ausilio reiterated that Inter will once again try to persuade the former Roma striker to join them in January.

Inter were linked with Borini in the summer, in a window where the player turned down advances from Sunderland to stay with the Reds.

For his agent, that mindset remains in place, in spite of Ausilio’s latest advances.

“It doesn’t make the news anymore,” Marco De Marchi began to FcInterNews.it.

“This is just the umpteenth expression from Piero [Ausilio]. Obviously, it’s a pleasure to hear that from a friend and someone who is part of such an important club.

“As in the past, I can only publicly thank him for this. But I can’t go further because Fabio now is a Liverpool player and he is trying to push his way through and nobody thought he could do it.

“In the past, Fabio has always managed to come out with his head held high from difficult situations.

“Despite being part of a team of absolute level, he is pushing his way through and he has just showed this in the League Cup where he served an assist for Mario Balotelli – I think that was an outstanding performance from a player who had not played consistently until then.”

Borini’s agent confirmed there was a summer move discussed with the San Siro side prior.

“In the summer I was in touch with Inter and other top clubs. Of course the right conditions need to be there for a deal to go through.

“Liverpool said they never wanted to give the player out on loan and so it happened. As a consequence, many situations failed to materialise.

“When Borini left Rome two years ago, he was aware that he was leaving behind an important project in order to join Liverpool, one of the most famous clubs in the world.

“In the first season he suffered two important injuries to his foot first and then his shoulder, that forced him on the sidelines for seven months.

“Then last season he played consistently and he enjoyed a fabulous season [at Sunderland].

“And now he has come back to play with Liverpool because I think it was fair that he enjoyed his chances there – otherwise it wouldn’t have made any sense to leave Roma.

“He’s pushing his way through among great players like Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli. He is starting to take the field now with important performances – I didn’t have any doubt about this.

“Then what will happen in January, I don’t know.

“I can’t say whether Inter would be a preferred destination because that wouldn’t respect other parties.

“All I can say is that Fabio now is focused on Liverpool only and he doesn’t think about other teams.

“He wants to play and win his battles, just like tonight when he is playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“At the moment it’s absurd to talk about the January transfer market. Inter are an important team, but Fabio now plays for Liverpool and is only focused on the Reds.

“His contract expires in June 2016, so there are many things that need to be evaluated before facing this kind of discussion.

“Fabio should stay calm, as he has always done in the past. Nothing can move him now and his commitment is always at its peak both on and off the pitch.”
