Leonardo Bonucci seems to be edging closer to a move to the Bundesliga for Union Berlin, as Lazio are not making any progress for the Juventus outcast.

The Italy international has finally accepted he will not be able to win over Max Allegri or get his place back in the squad, as he has not even been assigned a shirt number for the 2023-24 season.

Over the last few weeks, the only genuine options to emerge were Union Berlin and Lazio, who have both qualified for the Champions League group stage.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Bonucci’s representatives were in contact with Union Berlin again today to continue discussions over personal terms.

On the other hand, Lazio are making no real progress and do not seem to consider him a priority.

If that does not change, then the veteran centre-back will likely accept his first club experience abroad and join Union Berlin.
