Leonardo Bonucci admits he is ‘worried’ and Juventus fans have every right to jeer them after a 2-1 home defeat to Benfica left them on zero points in the Champions League.

Arek Milik’s header had given the Bianconeri the ideal start after four minutes, but they gradually fell deeper and deeper, allowing the Portuguese side to overturn the result.

After a 2-1 defeat to PSG, Juve for the first time in their history have lost both opening Champions League group games and sit six points adrift of the joint leaders.

“It’s only right the fans jeer us, there’s not much to argue with there,” Bonucci told Amazon Prime Video Italia after his teammates were booed off the pitch at the Allianz Juventus Stadium.

“We lost a game that we absolutely should not have lost. It’s perfectly fair that we are jeered. I am the captain, I have to take responsibility. We are going through a period where we struggle to do anything.”

It’s not just in Europe, as while the VAR controversy disallowed a Milik winner against Salernitana, the fact remains they were 2-0 down at half-time to a relegation battler.

Juventus have won only two of their seven competitive matches so far this season.

“I am worried, there’s no point denying it. Unfortunately, we have this tendency to lose our way during matches. I don’t know why it happens and that is what worries me the most,” continued Bonucci.

“We struggle for consistency during a game. We’ve just got to shut up and get working. It’s a situation that has to change, we have many players out of action at the moment, so the same ones keep playing and the fatigue is building up.”

  1. tuchel wont make them play better attacking football – he will make them more efficent – but he’s a manager who wont get along with this current board – as thr all in the same boat as allegri – thr all yes men

  2. Can’t afford Tuchel’s salary, period.
It’s not only slow ball’s issue, the whole club is sick. But slow ball must be sacked immediately.

  3. The 7/9 have more to worry about. PhD Max will even deploy 10-0-0 when she has to play Maccacbi Haifa. The 7/9 have no business in the CL. The conference league is their habitat and even that might be too hard for them.

  4. Isn’t that the same coach that won you all 6 Serie A titles, and took you all to 2 Champions League finals, he was a god back then, and now you all are calling for his head, and saying that he can’t even coach. 🤣🤣
