Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci said Italy will push ‘to exceed our limits’ in Euro 2020. ‘Italy are as hungry as in the 2000s’.

After 10 out of 10 wins in the qualifiers, Italy are expected to compete in the European Championship this summer and Bonucci wants to ‘try to give joy to the fans’.

The Azzurri are currently preparing for the opener against Turkey on June 11 and Bonucci stressed they want to ‘showcase’ their return to old heights.

“The European Championship will be great to showcase that Italy are back to being as hungry as the one of the 2000s,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Mancini has been able to pull the right strings, giving us back enthusiasm without too much pressure.

“He gave us a precise imprint in the way of playing, enhancing the qualities of the individuals. We will try to exceed our limits and try to give joy to the fans.”

The 34-year-old, capped 101 times by Italy, prepares for his fourth major championship with the Azzurri and his third European Championship.
