Leonardo Bonucci is unlikely to put pen to paper on a new contract with Juventus but does intend to see out his current deal, reports suggest.

The 35-year-old Italian defender has struggled to show his best this season following the departure of long-time centre back partner Giorgio Chiellini. Massimiliano Allegri has continued trusting in Bonucci but it’s starting to become clear that he’s now entering the twilight of his career, leading to serious considerations about the future.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bonucci’s current deal is set to expire with Juventus in 2024 and he plans to see out his contract in Turin, although things have fallen quiet regarding a new deal.

Fellow defender Daniele Rugani is in a similar position; the 28-year-old’s contract expires with the Bianconeri in 2024 and he’ll decide at the end of this season whether to look for a new adventure or see out his deal in the Piedmont capital.
