Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci insists the Old Lady was ‘robbed’ against Salernitana, urging his teammates to turn their anger into motivation.

The Bianconeri were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Salernitana at the Allianz Stadium last night. They recovered from two goals down but saw a late Arek Milik winner disallowed for Bonucci’s offside.

The defender said he was not involved in active play, so the goal should have stood. There was more controversy, however, as Antonio Candreva apparently kept everyone onside, including Bonucci, but his position close to the corner was probably not considered by VAR (watch).

Bonucci had complained about VAR’s decision during a post-match interview with DAZN last night and showed his discontent again with an Instagram post this morning.

“We must transform the anger for what we’ve been robbed of into energy for Wednesday. It’s going to be a tough game and we’ll need everyone’s help.”

In two days, the Old Lady hosts Benfica at the Allianz Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League Group H.

Bonucci’s teammates Juan Cuadrado and Milik also took to their official Instagram account this morning to complain about VAR’s decision.

  1. I believe the viewers and supporters are being robbed, for more than a year with these terrible performances.

I can’t imagine for how long this can go on without consequences.

Bonucci is no true teamleader, only a noisy player who shows a bad example on and off the pitch.

  2. The pictures says it all, Candreva played Bonucci 1m onside. It’s not even up for debate like these incidents with Muntari and old Ronaldo where 50/50.

  3. The only ones who were robbed are the fans. Imagine going to the Allianz seeing PhD defend for 87 mins and at the same time see a relegation style team dominate. In football you have to make your own luck. As long as PhD octagon is leading the circus, luck cannot happen as the 7/9 spend more time in their own box as opposed to the opposition’s.

  4. You all celebrated Bonucci for scoring in the Euro final in open play and a penalty. Be silent.
