Leonardo Bonucci is in doubt for Juventus’ upcoming match against Napoli on Thursday.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri will already have to tinker with his defence in the match against the Partenopei following Giorgio Chiellini’s positive COVID test and now he risks a further issue in the department.
As announced by Juventus, Bonucci recently reported fatigue in his left thigh and he underwent diagnostic tests at J Medical today, which did not reveal any injuries. His condition will be closely monitored on a day to day basis, but there’s a chance that he won’t start the match against Napoli in three days’ time in order to avoid possibly exacerbating the issue.
The 34-year-old Italian centre back, who is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2024, has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1885 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and helped the side keep eight clean sheets.
Kicking off the week with eyes firmly on #JuveNapoli! ⚽️👀

Fatigue in his left thigh?
Jesus. Man up.
@Brandon it’s the nice way of what ee used to call a “dead leg”. If you have never had it then you won’t know but you literally have no strength in the leg to run or play a ball. Maybe you can gut i out in a Sunday pub league, but no way in hell at this level.
Scirea,
Having played hockey when I lived in Sweden, and seeing the injuries suffered in that sport and sports like rugby, AFL, and players keep playing, this seems to be a mild injury.
