Poland legend Zbigniew Boniek has urged hitman Krzysztof Piatek to stay at Genoa “for another two years” before moving on.

He was signed from Cracovia for just €4.5m over the summer, but has been the most prolific player in Europe this season.

The 23-year-old scored in each of his nine competitive games for Genoa, with a total 13 goals, ad today got his first for Poland in the Nations League game against Portugal.

“He should absolutely not leave in January,” President of the Polish Football Federation Boniek told Sport Mediaset.

“If he were to ask me for advice, I’d tell him to stay at Genoa for another two years. He should learn, improve and then at the age of 25 can go wherever he wants.”
