Salernitana have officially bought Federico Bonazzoli from Sampdoria, but Andrea Pinamonti reportedly refuses to leave Inter for the Stadio Arechi side.

The transfer was completed this evening for a reported €5m after Bonazzoli underwent his medical.

He had already been with Salernitana on loan last season, scoring 10 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, plus two in one Coppa Italia match.

The 25-year-old is a product of the Inter youth academy and was sold to Sampdoria for €4.5m in February 2015, but the Nerazzurri have retained a 20 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.

That means Inter will pocket circa €900,000 from the transfer.

However, Salernitana seemingly will not get Pinamonti, because despite agreeing terms with Inter, the player is not prepared to join the relegation battlers.

He is holding out for other contenders, above all Atalanta, while Sassuolo have also been linked with the 23-year-old.

Pinamonti spent last season on loan at Empoli, scoring 13 goals in 36 Serie A appearances.

  1. Or…Inzaghi could and should decide to utilize Pinamonti with a forward thought toward helping the Nazionale talent pool-given that Inter is competing in the CL!

Again, Seria A club management failing to develop Italian talent!

  2. @Vittorio right, inter should keep and play pinamonti despite him being mediocre at best.

Surely a great idea for inter to play some Italian hack and potentially miss out on top 4 because of it, just for some fringe hope that he develops into a semi decent player, which is what his potential is at best.

Brain power 9000 idea right there.
