“It’s definitely one of the most beautiful ties I’ve ever played,” Bonaventura admitted, speaking to Sky.

“It’s a fascinating game and we really want to do well because we want to get through.

“It won’t be easy, Arsenal have great players and even if they’re not going through a great period of form they have strong players.

“But we believe, and we also have a chance to get through.

“It’s hard to single out one of their players in particular. There’s no fear, only respect. Arsenal are a team with a great history and we know we can’t get it wrong.

“There are two games so we definitely have to think about it differently compared to a one-off game.

“We won’t make too many calculations though, we’ll need a great performance because to get through we have to prove that we’re a better team than them.”

The Derby della Madonnina against Inter on Sunday was postponed, following the tragic death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori.

“Astori was a lad who was well liked by everyone. He was always positive and smiling, we’re really all in shock about what happened.

“We’ll miss him so much and in recent days there’s been this huge feeling of sadness among all of us, but we need to move forward and we’ll do our best, also to honour Davide’s memory.

“We didn’t feel like we could play and I think that’s legitimate. We wouldn’t have been able to put on a show worthy of the derby.”
