Bologna sporting director Riccardo Bigon warns Tottenham that ‘at least three Serie A clubs have sounded out Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Spurs are believed to be leading the race to sign the Japan international, but managing director Fabio Paratici hasn’t reached an agreement with the Rossoblu.

Bologna’s asking price is €20m, but the North London club are also in advanced talks to sign Atalanta‘s Cristian Romero.

“There’s more than a club interested in Tomiyasu and we are in no rush to sell him,” Bigon told Sky Sport Italia.

“Clearly, it’s difficult for a player to remain indifferent when a Premier League club calls, however, we are waiting to receive the right offer for the lad and us. Other Premier League clubs are interested and at least three Serie A clubs have asked for information about him.

“However, I don’t think Serie A clubs want to be involved in bidding wars and are waiting to know what will happen after the Olympic games. We are in a rush to close the deal.”

Paratici seems to be keen to sign Serie A players as the Premier League giants are close to securing the services of Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on loan with an option to buy.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs would sign both Romero and Tomiyasu given that they both play at centre-back.

Tottenham have reportedly offered €18m to sign Tomiyasu, but the proposal is still not good enough for the Rossoblu, who have signed Kevin Bonifazi from SPAL as a potential replacement for Tomiyasu who will take part in the Olympic games with the Japan U23 squad.

Bigon also provided an update on Marko Arnautovic, who seemed close to joining the Rossoblu.

“Talks are ongoing, but it’s difficult to predict when we’ll finalise the deal.

“We believe he can be a good player for Bologna, but the terms of the agreement have changed, so we had to adapt and understand how far we can get. We must follow the club’s guidelines, but we want to reach an agreement.”
