Bologna ultras have released a statement denying they aimed racist chants at Juventus striker Moise Kean.

The incident was reported in the opening minutes of last night’s 2-0 Coppa Italia home defeat at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggested these were ‘boo’ noises and not monkey chants, but above all that they were used against any Juve player who went into the penalty area.

“With reference to the media coverage of supposed racist chants towards Kean, the Centro Bologna Club demands an immediate retraction,” read a statement from the ultras group.

“The accusation is unfouded, as the ‘boo’ noises were simply jeers towards the opposition team and their supporters.”
