Bologna are without a victory after their first two Serie A matches of the 2026-27 season and the troubles for head coach Domenico Tedesco have now increased as Italy international Riccardo Orsolini has been ruled out for several weeks.
Orsolini ruled out for three weeks after injury in Atalanta 1-0 Bologna
Bologna have fallen to consecutive 1-0 losses at the beginning of the Serie A season, at home against Lazio in the opening weekend and away against Atalanta on Monday night.

They are one of seven Serie A sides still stuck on zero points after their first two matches, along with Torino, Parma, Genoa, Monza, Venezia and Fiorentina.
In an unfortunate twits, the club has now confirmed that fan favourite Orsolini reported for medical examinations on Thursday and the results have shown an injury to the flexors in his left thigh, which happened during Monday night’s game against Atalanta.
The club expects Orsolini to be back in around three weeks’ time, but this is set to keep him out of action until the international break, which officially kicks off on September 21. Bologna’s last match before the break comes at home against Torino on September 19.

Orsolini is expected to miss Bologna’s upcoming fixtures against Sassuolo, away against Napoli and the aforementioned Torino clash.
Federico Bernardeschi, who started ahead of Orsolini against Atalanta earlier this week, is expected to keep hold of the right wing slot for the next few weeks.
