Bologna veteran Gary Medel has been given a two-match ban for insulting the referee during his dismissal against Juventus, while Nicolò Zaniolo is suspended when Roma face Inter.

The Disciplinary Commission announced its decisions based on the events of Serie A Week 34.

Medel was shown two yellow cards in the matter of moments, both for dissent, during the 1-1 draw with Juventus on Saturday.

The Chile international has been handed a two-match ban with the report stating he reacted to the first yellow card by continuing to protest, including with ‘unequivocable gestures’ and touching the referee’s arm at the red card.

It means Medel will miss both the games against Udinese and Inter, and faces a €5,000 fine.

Elsewhere, Zaniolo is suspended for Roma against his old club Inter, while goalkeeper Daniel Fuzato was sent off from the bench for dissent.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly must also sit out a one-match ban for his booking against the Giallorossi.

Also suspended for one round in Serie A are Adam Soumaoro (Bologna), Milan Djuric (Salernitana), Marko Arnautovic (Bologna), Ridgeciano Haps (Venezia), Sofian Kiyine (Venezia),  Matteo Lovato (Cagliari), Pasquale Mazzocchi (Salernitana) and Nahuel Molina (Udinese).

  1. LMAO I knew it!

First they suspend Zaniolo for the Inter match over nothing, then they give a two match ban to Medel to miss the Inter match …

Help is coming from all sides and angles to Inter this season.
