Bologna are interested in making a move for Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri but first must make space in their squad, reports detail.

The Rossoblu are looking to pick up a new backup winger this month to help reduce the reliance on Riccardo Orsolini, who is a core part of the squad in Emilia-Romagna. Bologna currently sit 12th in the Serie A table and have a 10-point gap to relegation candidates Hellas Verona.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Bologna are keen to pick up Pellistri this month and are hoping to agree a loan deal with a buy option attached, but first need to work on their outgoing market. Manchester United are willing to let the 21-year-old leave and are open to talks.

The Rossoblu now need to re-home either Emanuel Vignato or Nicola Sansone, and cannot take too long as Watford are also interested in Pellistri.

Pellistri joined Manchester United from Penarol in October 2020 in a deal worth around €8.5m. The 21-year-old appeared in all three of Uruguay’s games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, playing 182 minutes of action.
