Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has been sent to Rome by the club’s medical staff, because Coronavirus would be extremely dangerous for him during his recovery from leukaemia.
Emilia-Romagna was one of the three regions hit hardest by the outbreak in Italy, along with Lombardy and Veneto.
Although all of Italy is now in lockdown to stem the spread of the highly-contagious respiratory illness, several Serie A players at Juventus, Sampdoria and Fiorentina have tested positive.

“We almost had to force the coach to leave Bologna, because he wanted to stay here for the love of this club,” revealed fitness coach Massimiliano Marchesi on E-TV.
Mihajlovic has gone back to his house in Rome to be with family, as he would be considered very high risk if he were to catch Coronavirus.
The 51-year-old was diagnosed with leukaemia in June, had three courses of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
“He is safer in Rome. The important thing is that he doesn’t catch this, because frankly we haven’t had case studies on people with this virus who had his issues.”
Mihajlovic had already returned to work with Bologna, but wore a protective mask around groups of people and had to avoid shaking hands or hugging.
Someone who has gone through chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant will have a severely-depleted immune system, so any additional illness such as a regular flu could be extremely dangerous.
The same goes for Claudia Nainggolan, the wife of Cagliari star Radja, who is undergoing chemotherapy.
